My Audio Problem
Some guys spend money on golf, bass boats, lavish vacations, etc. I tend to buy tech items and especially audio equipment. I used the photo below in a presentation and openly admitted that I “had an audio problem”. This is the office I use for all my audio, screencasting and video (webcam-based) production.
- Windows 10 Desktop PC
- Mackie 802-VLZ3 Mixer – Used to route audio between computer, portable audio recorder, headset, and monitors.
- Marantz PMD-661 Portable Audio Recorder – This is a neat broadcast-quality portable recorder that I use to record audio from the computer or from the headset through the mixer. I can also go portable with it for field recordings.
- Sennheiser HMD25 Headset – This is a headset that is designed for recording in loud environments. I can plug this headset directly into the Marantz PMD-661 and record up to 5 hours on battery power for work in the field.
- Mackie MR5-MK3 Powered Monitors – The monitors (speakers) shown in the picture are M-Audios. They were recently swapped out for Mackies.
