The DLP will start producing a podcast about technology in the automotive service industry by May 1, 2008. The podcast will be in the form of MP3 audio files. Each recording will be from 15-20 minutes in length and will often include interviews from automotive technicians, automotive educators, and technology vendors.

You will be able to subscribe to the podcast so you can automatically receive new episodes using software such as iTunes. You can actually listen to the podcasts using any MP3 player or media player software on your computer such as Windows Media Player of QuickTime. You may also simply listen to an individual episode directly from this website using a built-in media player.

What is a podcast?

Podcasting is a technology that automatically delivers audio or video files to a person when new episodes are released. You "subscribe" to a podcast with software like iTunes. The software and most podcasts are free.

Why should I listen to a podcast?

The best part about a podcast is that it allows you to decide what you want to hear in your down time. You can turn that time driving to work, working out, walking the dog, etc into learning time.

Do I need an iPod?

While this is a big misconception, you do not need to have an Apple iPod to listen to a podcast. Most audio podcasts are MP3 files and can be played on any MP3 player. Studies show that 85% of the time MP3 files are listened to while sitting at a computer and using the computer's media player software
